Poverty Eradication Network Trust

The Merck Company donated funds for a forty foot container of books. Books For Africa chose PEN Trust to be the recipient of that container as it was a photo taken by BFA staff, Deb McDonald and Brad Mattson, taken at St. John’s University of Merck Manuals that initiated the donation. This container was primarily post-secondary and was designated to the two new universities in Dodoma – the University of Dodoma and St. John’s University of Tanzania. Continue reading…

Thanks goes to several Rotary Clubs from the Minneapolis area who donated funds for a container currently being distributed. A total of 23,318 books were distributed to two universities, ten secondary schools, nine primary schools, one regional library, two teacher resource centers and other smaller groups.

Mango Church has had another face lift. We received a designated gift for continued construction to try and complete the church. After discussion with Pastor Grace and church elders, it was decided that the funds would be spilt into two projects.

Our ten scholarship kids are doing well in their studies. We have added an additional primary student to our group – making our total three in primary and seven in secondary school. More than half of our scholarship kids received new backpacks and school supplies this year thanks to the Brady families.
